Jhanda Mal Bihari Lal Charitable Trust, after successfully running M.R.A. Senior Secondary School, Sector 27- A, Chandigarh, which has reached its sublime, ventured to start another sister institution in Panchkula, on request & demand of the residents of this satellite town near Chandigarh in the year 1982 under the dynamic presidentship of Late Shri Hardyal Mahajan Ji.
The history of these schools dates back to the year 1924 when two philanthropist brothers Sarv Shri Jhanda Mal & Bihari Lal Mahajan donated a fabulous amount of Rs. 3 Lacs. In cash besides land & building at Chuharmunda, Distt. Sailkot(now in Pakistan) in the sacred memory of their revered father Shri Moti Ram Ji for the noble cause of spread of education. Its foundation stone was laid by Mahatma Hans Raj ji. The institution got a great blow due to partition of the country of the year 1947. But with the sincere efforts of the Board of Trustees, the Trust purchased 9 Acres of land in Chandigarh for M.R.A. Senior Secondary Model School in Sector-27, Chandigarh and 2 Acres of land in Panchkula. Both the schools have earned a great reputation in Academics, Co-curricular activities and Sports.
M.R.A. Modern Public School, Sector-7, Panchkula is affiliated to CBSE, Delhi up to Secondary level. Individual development which begins at birth and continues throughout life, is a dialectrical process which starts with knowing oneself and at the same time is a process of constructive Social Interaction. Realizing these facts, it is committed to all round development of the personality of the child laying special emphasis on character-building. A unique fusion of the ancient and rich cultural heritage of the East and creative & independent thinking of the West.
